CSK’s strong reaction to reports that they have approached MI for the trade of Rohit, Surya, and Bumrah

Mumbai Indians

According to reports, the Chennai Super Kings were among the franchises that approached MI about trading Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and others.

All is not well at Mumbai Indians, according to social media reports, especially in light of the cryptic posts from Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah, respectively, on the Hardik Pandya announcements that the franchise made over the last month – captaincy preceded by his trade from Gujarat Titans.

Some reports even claimed that Rohit Sharma, whose captaincy tenure at MI was ended after a glorious 10 years that included five IPL titles, and a few others, including Bumrah and Surya, were unhappy with the change in captaincy. The reports hinted at a possible trade in which at least one of Rohit, Surya, or Bumrah would be assigned to a different team.

The Mumbai Indians categorically denied the rumors and claimed that a few franchises approached them about trading Rohit. One of the teams was reportedly the Chennai Super Kings, but franchise CEO Kasi Viswanathan responded strongly.

Viswanathan told Cricbuzz on the sidelines of the IPL 2024 auction in Dubai on Tuesday that CSK does not believe in the principle of trading players and does not have players to carry out a trade with fellow five-time IPL winners.

“We don’t trade players as a rule, and we don’t have any players to trade with the Mumbai Indians.” “We have not approached them and do not intend to,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Mumbai head coach Mark Boucher dismissed reports of a schism within the MI camp following the announcement of Hardik as the new captain. While he understands the emotion surrounding the big call, the former South Africa international stressed that this was “purely a transitional phase.”

“Well, we’ve had conversations with certain team members and the group’s leadership.” It is simply a transition period. It’s a cricket match. Mumbai Indians advance. Rohit has been outstanding for us. He’s been a stalwart for the Mumbai Indians and has performed admirably.

This is just our decision to move forward and enter a transition phase with the new captain, and it’s, you know, set aside all the motions and stuff like that. “That’s all there is to it,” the coach explained.

“I’ve heard rumors on social media and stuff like that, but I’m not really into social media stuff.” We handled it as well as we could. We understand the feelings, but this is merely a transitional period for Mumbai Indians. And we decided to move forward, and that is where we are now.”
