Babar Azam’s Cricketing Brilliance Continues as he Tops ICC Rankings Amidst Unconventional Commentary Moment

Renowned Pakistani cricketer Babar Azam has solidified his status as a world-class player, consistently showcasing his exceptional batting prowess across all formats of the game, including the ongoing Lanka Premier League (LPL). Currently, Babar stands at the pinnacle of the International Cricket Council (ICC) ranking chart, a testament to his exceptional skills and unwavering commitment to the sport.

Held in high regard by fans across Pakistan, Babar Azam has managed to leave cricket experts at a loss for words when attempting to laud his remarkable performances. One such instance unfolded recently when commentator Ramiz Raja found himself gushing over Babar’s abilities, inadvertently sparking a social media trend.

A former Pakistani cricketer and past chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Ramiz Raja was fulfilling his commentary duties during an LPL match on August 7th. It was during this game that Babar Azam displayed his brilliance by scoring a century. Raja, caught up in the excitement of the moment, expressed his deep appreciation for Babar’s batting finesse.

However, amidst the accolades and praise for the Pakistani skipper’s skills, Raja made a peculiar comment that caught many off guard. In an unexpected twist, he quipped that he would consider marrying the 28-year-old cricketer. Raja’s on-air statement went as follows: “Fifty in security, class and quality. Calmness. He is your guy in such a situation. He can bat deep in the innings.”

The light-hearted banter continued as his co-commentator inquired whether Raja had any more objectives to add. The former cricketer responded with a smile, stating: “I absolutely love him… Yeah, want to marry him.” The exchange quickly gained traction and the video clip of this charming moment during the Colombo Strikers vs. Galle Titans LPL 2023 match went viral across social media platforms.

During the said match, representing Colombo Strikers, Babar Azam delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 104 runs off 59 balls. His contribution played a pivotal role in his team’s successful chase of a target of 189 runs, with 7 wickets in hand and one ball to spare.

This achievement marked Babar Azam as only the second player, following Chris Gayle, to attain 10 T20 centuries. As the World Cup draws closer, Pakistan, led by Babar, will undoubtedly be closely watched, given the team’s high expectations and the captain’s consistent brilliance on the field.
