HS Prannoy Moves To 9th, Lakshya Sen Jumps To 11th In BWF Ranking

News Delhi: Following semi-final results in the Japan Open Super 750 badminton competition, HS Prannoy and Lakshya Sen, two prominent Indian shuttlers, moved up to the ninth and eleventh positions in the most recent BWF world rankings on Tuesday. After losing in the semifinals in three intense games to Viktor Axelsen of Denmark and Jonatan Christie of Indonesia, respectively, in Tokyo last week, Prannoy rose one spot while Sen rose two.

Kidambi Srikanth, a former world number one, rose up a rung to position 19, while Mithun Manjunath, a national champion, moved up four spots to rank 50.

PV Sindhu, who has won two Olympic medals, kept in place at 17 in the most recent rankings, while Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty also held onto the top two spots.

Treesa Jolly and Gayatri and Gayatri Gopichand of India advanced two positions to take the 17th spot in the women’s doubles competition.
