Spain Forward Loaned to Real Madrid Juan From Spanish

Real Madrid

On Monday, Real Madrid officially announced the signing of Spain striker Joselu to a season-long loan from relegated Espanyol. Despite Espanyol’s relegation this season, Joselu finished third in La Liga in goals scored with 16, receiving a call-up to the national team camp for the Nations League final four. “Real Madrid and Espanyol have agreed to the loan of Joselu, who will be at the club for next season with an option to buy at the end of it,” stated Madrid in a statement.

The 33-year-old attacker, who has three goals in four appearances for his nation, supports Madrid’s struggling offense.

The departures of Karim Benzema, Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio, and Mariano Diaz provide place for significant additions.

Joselu is a journeyman striker who has played for ten clubs in Spain, Germany, and England. He formerly played for Real Madrid B and has made one La Liga appearance for Los Blancos, during the 2010–11 season.

The targetman helped Spain win in the Netherlands by scoring the game-winning goal in extra time against Italy in the semifinal. He then made another appearance from the bench against Croatia on Sunday.
