World Cup champion Lionel Messi will leave French club PSG on June 30 when his contract expires, head coach Christophe Galtier announced on Thursday.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner left Barcelona to join the Parisian club after Barcelona’s financial difficulties made it impossible for them to keep hold of their legendary top scorer.

As a result of the owners from Qatar pulling off an extraordinary coup to align three of the top players in the world of football right now, Messi received a heralded welcome upon his arrival in Paris.

In the front of the attacking lineup, Lionel Messi teamed up with Brazilian superstar Neymar, French wunderkind Kylian Mbappe, and PSG’s Kylian Mbappe.

The club won the Ligue 1 championships in each of the two seasons the Argentine played for them, but the star-studded lineup was unable to duplicate their domestic success in Europe and suffered early elimination from the UEFA Champions League on both occasions, leaving the fans of the French capital disappointed in their players.

The PSG fans jeered the Argentine wizard out of frustration at their team’s dismal performances on the continental scene.
Since reports of a disagreement between the player and the team first surfaced, a sensational return to Barcelona has been making headlines. The 35-year-old has received much speculation about returning to the Blaugrana, where he made his name as one of the best players in the sport’s lengthy history.

Barcelona also appeared to have picked up the slack from the previous season as head coach Xavi guided the Catalan team to their first League championship since 2019.
Messi with the best Polish forward in the world, Robert Lewandowski, would make a lethal attacking duo if Barcelona is successful in reuniting with the iconic Argentine.

Other bids are rolling in for the left-footed wizard, with David Beckham-owned MLS team Inter Miami and Saudi Arabia also reportedly interested in the Argentine to boost their respective countries’ expanding international football profiles.
