LSG captain KL Rahul was fined Rs 12 lakh for maintaining a slow overrate

KL Rahul, captain of the Lucknow Super Giants, has been penalised Rs 12 lakhs for sustaining a slow over-rate during their Indian Premier League encounter against the Rajasthan Royals here. On Wednesday night, LSG defeated Rajasthan Royals by 10 runs at Sawai Mansingh Stadium. “As it was the team’s first offense of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Mr. Rahul was fined Rs 12 lakhs,” the IPL said in a statement.

The IPL aspires for matches to last three hours and twenty minutes, but slow over rates are causing numerous games to go beyond four hours.

Kyle Mayers led the way with 51 off 42 balls as LSG finished with a total of 154 for seven. In response, RR were bowled out for 144 in 20 overs, with Avesh Khan collecting three wickets for LSG.
