“He Knows That…”: Sunil Gavaskar’s Brutal Verdict On Virat Kohli After Dismissal In 2nd ODI vs Australia

On Sunday, Virat Kohli suffered another LBW dismissal. In the second One-Day International against Australia at Visakhapatnam, the batter got out for 31 runs off the bowling of Nathan Ellis after he missed his flick down the leg side. He was out for four runs in a similar fashion to how he was dismissed in the first ODI, when a Mitchell Starc delivery struck him in the pad. Sunil Gavaskar, a former captain of India and batsman, was upset when Kohli continued to play outside the line in the second ODI.

“Once more, he played outside the line. Absolutely, he is aware of it (his mistake). He plays across the line pretty often these days, so it is something he is getting out to. The reason he gets into problems is because he looks to play towards square leg rather than even mid-on “explained Gavaskar while commentating on Star Sports.

With regard to the Indian innings, Starc once again proved to be the match-winner after his five-wicket haul reduced the hosts to just 117 in the second ODI against Australia.

While India was dismissed for their third-lowest score against Australia in just 26 overs, Starc, who had three wickets in the previous game, took 5 for 53 in eight overs, including four in his opening stint.

Starc bowled excellent back-of-the-length deliveries, including some that angled across the right-handers and some that came in after pitching, with the help of the surface’s nip.

Starc caused the most significant harm, and the hosts’ dreadful day continued when Sean Abbott (3/23) and Nathan Ellis (2/13) bowled powerful lengths to destroy the lower middle order.
