According to India’s Fielding Coach T Dilip, Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the ODI series against Australia

Shreyas Iyer, a middle-order batsman for India, has been formally ruled out of the forthcoming three-match ODI series against Australia, which begins on Friday. This was officially announced on Wednesday by fielding coach T Dilip. Iyer’s exclusion from ODIs was initially reported on March 11 by PTI. According to information obtained, there is a very slim likelihood that the fashionable Mumbai native would play any part in the lucrative IPL for KKR. Iyer is KKR’s IPL captain. He is currently undergoing intense rehabilitation at NCA, although it is unknown if he will also need surgery, as Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna did.

“Injuries are an inevitable aspect of playing sports. The best, most modern medical facilities are available here. We are working together (with NCA). This series will not feature Shreyas. As soon as we have further information, we’ll let you know “T Dilip, the fielding coach for India, addressed the media during his first news conference.

Iyer, a right-handed player who recently returned to the Indian team for the four-match Test series against Australia after overcoming a back injury, reported having similar issues during the fourth and final Test in Ahmedabad.

Iyer was afterwards taken for scans by the BCCI medical staff with the instruction that the batter was being watched. Iyer did not play in India’s lone innings in Ahmedabad, which saw them finish with a respectable 571 runs thanks in large part to Virat Kohli’s 186.

Iyer is anticipated to be sidelined by the injury for at least the first half of the Indian Premier League’s 2023 season, which kicks off on March 31. The two-time champion Kolkata Knight Riders, who are led by Iyer, appear to be looking for a new skipper.
