The IPL championship game in 2023 is most likely to take place on May 28 with a start date of either March 31 or April 1. The Women’s Premier League (WPLmaiden )’s season is expected to be played from March 4 to 24.

The women’s T20 World Cup, which will be held in South Africa from February 10 to 26, and the beginning of the men’s IPL, which will be held at several of the same venues as the WPL, must be packed into the same time frame. To allow the grounds to be fresh, the WPL should be finished around a week before the men’s IPL begins.

The owners of the Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, and Royal Challengers Bangalore, as well as the Adani Group and Capri Holdings, won the bidding on Wednesday when the BCCI sold the five WPL franchises during an auction in Mumbai.

The tournament’s timetable and itinerary, as well as the choice of how many venues will be used, are all “works in progress,” according to IPL chairman Arun Dhumal, who made the statement following Wednesday’s auction. The player auction will most likely take place in the first week of February, according to BCCI secretary Jay Shah.

We are currently in discussion over [the venues for the] inaugural season, according to Dhumal. “That project is ongoing. If it [WPL] has to be multi-city value or single-city value, we will need to consider the logistical problems involved.”

Each owner of a WPL team will be given an auction budget of INR 12 crore (about USD 1.47 million) to assemble a roster of between 15 and 18 players.
