Due to a back injury, Shreyas Iyer will not play in the next ODI series against New Zealand, according to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Iyer, who has recently struggled to capitalize on many promising starts, will travel to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for more evaluation. The degree of the injury was not divulged by the BCCI and tests undertaken by the NCA will establish how long he will be out of action. For the series, Rajat Patidar was chosen as his replacement.

Due to a back injury, Team India batsman Shreyas Iyer will not play in the next three-match ODI series against New Zealand. He will go to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for additional management and evaluation. Rajat Patidar has been chosen by the All-India Senior Selection Committee to take Shreyas Iyer’s place, according to the BCCI’s official release.

Iyer scored 28, 28, and 38 in the three games of the ODI series against Sri Lanka, however he was unable to elevate his innings. The cricketer from Madhya Pradesh, Patidar, has been a member of the squad for the most recent series and has had a strong domestic career.

On January 18, 2023, India will battle New Zealand in Hyderabad for the first One-Day International.
