I'm Staying Active: Amit Mishra Aiming to Be Selected in the IPL 2023 Mini Auction

Amit Mishra, an Indian spinner, expressed his optimism about being selected by a team in the next Indian Premier League auction. Mishra didn’t find a buyer in the super auction held at the end of the previous season because Delhi Capitals was where he last appeared in an IPL game. With 166 wickets in 154 games, the leg-spinner has an unblemished record in the lucrative competition.

Mishra expressed confidence in his physical fitness while highlighting his most recent performance in domestic cricket. He believes he still has two to three excellent years left in him.

I still have 1-2 years to play cricket. I stay in shape, and my recent and current domestic cricket performances haven’t been that bad either. At this week’s IPL auction, I’m hoping to be purchased by a club, Mishra told PTI.

He also discussed the effectiveness of wrist spinners in limited-overs cricket while highlighting his and Yuzvendra Chahal’s stellar IPL performances.

“In the past, people believed that the arrival of T20 cricket would reduce the usefulness of leg spin. They were demonstrably mistaken, though. Leg spin is successful not only in Test cricket but also in limited-overs cricket. Simply observe the IPL. The two most successful Indian bowlers in IPL history, Yuzvendra Chahal and I, both leg spinners, are listed below.

In the recently finished T20 World Cup, leg-spinners made a significant contribution as well. Adil Rashid, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Adam Zampa all performed exceptionally well for their countries. India, however, wasted the same opportunity during the big event since Yuzvendra Chahal was not given a chance to play in the starting XI for even one game.
