In keeping with India’s ongoing dominance in the first Test, veteran batsman Cheteshwar Pujara scored his fastest hundred in Test cricket on Friday. After almost four years, the Indian No. 3 scored a Test century. Pujara’s last Test century came against Australia on January 3, 2019, which is noteworthy. The third day of the current Test was off to a strong start for the Indian cricket team. They immediately took both of Bangladesh’s last wickets and then started batting. Rahul and Gill began extending India’s lead. Rahul was unable to score much, but Gill went on to record his first Test ton. After Rahul was out, Pujara paired with Gill and displayed expressive batting intent on a batting-friendly surface. He destroyed the bowlers and went on to become the quickest cricketer to get a century in a Test match. 16 fewer balls than his previous fastest, his 130-ball hundred. In 2013 against the West Indies in Wankhede, Pujara scored his quickest century. In 146 balls, he had scored the hundred.
