Gonzalo Higuain, a former Argentina striker, will retire following the 2022 MLS season. Gonzalo Higuain, an Argentinean player who was born in France, made his professional debut for River Plate in 2005.

Gonzalo Higuain, a former striker for Argentina, declared on Monday that he will give up playing football after the 2022 Major League Soccer season. In his last 14 games for the Herons, Gonzalo, who is currently playing for Inter Miami, has scored 12 goals. Higuain has played 64 times (54 starts) with Inter Miami, scoring 26 goals and dishing out 14 assists. Higuain, who was born in France, made his professional debut in 2005 for the Argentine team River Plate. After joining Real Madrid in 2007, “El Pipita” scored 121 goals and had 56 assists in 264 games.

Higuain joined the Italian team Napoli in 2013 before switching to Juventus, a rival, in 2016.

Higuain, who had great success in Turin, spent the 2018–19 season on loan to AC Milan. He scored six goals in 15 games.

In 2019, he later signed for Chelsea on a six-month loan, scoring five goals in 14 games.

The former Argentina striker had the fifth-highest goal total in La Albiceleste history with 31 goals in 75 appearances for his nation.

He also played for the Argentina team that lost in the 2014 World Cup final in Brazil.

Higuain won numerous awards during his time at his club, including three LaLiga championships, three Serie A crowns, a UEFA Europa League crown, a Copa del Rey crown, and three Coppa Italia crowns.
